Just For Youth, Inc. (d.b.a. Just 4 Youth) is a nonprofit, 501(c)(3) organization established and headquartered in Baltimore, Maryland. Our educational programs and youth development initiatives can be found in and around the Greater Baltimore area at schools, churches, and youth centers.

The Power of Numbers—What We Do
|
|
We’ve always known the power of numbers goes far beyond science, computers, and math. In fact, we’re committed to reversing the following statistics through a positive youth development model. We believe it’s never too late.
-
8 Million children spend time without adult supervision on a regular basis;
-
Nearly all children without adult supervision are at a significantly higher risk of truancy from school, poor grades, risky behavior, and substance abuse;
-
Between 3:00P and 6:00P each day, the juvenile crime rate triples;
-
Only 3% of African American students are placed in gifted and talented programs; and
-
61% of eighth-grade African American students are below their grade level in math.

Why Just 4 Youth
|
|
Just 4 Youth promotes a model that integrates youth development and student achievement. We do not see young people as problems. Instead, we recognize their potential as a resource. By building on their strengths and capabilities, we strengthen their own school and community at-large. Our model combines strategies designed to help youth gain personal resilience with efforts to build a supportive learning environment. Just 4 Youth provides:

Positive adult role models/mentors;

A safe place to learn and grow;

Educational tutoring/enrichment;

Social/character skills; and

Career development.
